UNHiNGED Community Bread Share

Neighbors supporting neighbors through shared loaves and kindness.

Why This Exists

Hi, I'm Dallas. I bake bread from my home kitchen using simple, real ingredients — flour, water, yeast, salt.

I didn’t grow up with food security. I’ve been poor. I’ve relied on welfare and EBT. I know what it’s like to stretch meals, to choose the cheapest option, and to accept food that barely feels like food because that’s what’s available.

I also know how much better real bread can be — not just nutritionally, but emotionally. Food should nourish people, not just fill space.

This project is sustained by neighbors choosing to support it in small, steady ways. When someone signs up for a monthly bread share subscription, it helps ensure this bread share can exist consistently — not just for one week or one family, but long-term. That steady support allows me to plan bakes, purchase ingredients, and show up reliably when help is needed.

Some people also choose to contribute once, or occasionally, when they’re able. Those contributions matter too. They help fill gaps, cover extra loaves, or respond to unexpected needs — without pressure or expectation.

This is a small-town effort. We live in a place where a lot of people are working hard and still coming up short. Groceries cost more. Bills pile up. Everyone feels it. The UNHiNGED Community Bread Share Project exists to quietly help right here, first — among neighbors who understand what it means to get by and still care about one another. This project is local by design and focused on our community first.

The UNHiNGED Community Bread Share exists because I’m now in a position to help. I can bake real bread and share it because all families deserve more than ultra-processed loaves and filler ingredients.

This isn’t about charity. It’s about dignity. And it’s about keeping bread on the table.
